Hello, I’m Mary Kessens, CEO of Aptiv.  The tragic events of the last few weeks have weighed heavily on us.  As an organization, we condemn all acts of injustice against any minority community and are committed to showing up for racial justice. Aptiv serves and supports all people with disabilities to live more independent lives.  Our stated vision is for communities to welcome, encourage, and value the contributions of all individuals.  We know that the combination of race, disability, and poverty, heightens the challenges people face from all walks of life.  We will not stand silent in the face of racism and will proudly stand up against injustice in any form.

As an organization, these are the ways we are standing up for social justice:

  • Educating ourselves.

  • Learning to listen to and be open to different life experiences and perspectives.

  • Showing support for those seeking accountability and change in specific cases of injustice.

The challenges of the past few weeks have presented an opportunity to improve the conversation about racial injustice.  The conversation may be difficult and challenging but we believe it’s worth having.
