La Crosse Youth Summer Program Changes Locations for 2019

Wednesday, May 15th, La Crosse - Our 2018 La Crosse facility remodel has had a positive impact on our adult day services and prevocational spaces. With the improvements to these spaces, we are able to centralize programming and provide easier transitions between programs for our participants.

While centralizing our adult services, we also were able to expand the day services art and exercise spaces and furnish them with new equipment to enhance programming options. In addition, we also were able to add a second sensory room and a skill-building room to ensure sensory, motor skill and interactive social environments are always available within Aptiv to support participant growth.

There is exciting news about Aptiv's summer youth program. In the past, we have had to rent additional space to house the Youth Summer Program. New in 2019, Aptiv is utilizing our La Crosse facility as a home base where the youth participants will start and end each day. We are able to utilize our La Crosse facility because of last year's facility expansion and renovations. With the centralization of our adult day and prevocational services, we now have the room to keep our adult and youth programs separate but in the same building.

By moving our youth programming into our facility we are able to dedicate additional resources back into our programs that allow Aptiv to continue to provide quality services and to increase community connection options for our participants.

Aptiv's Youth Summer Program provides children with disabilities, ages 3-18, with opportunities to engage in the community and develop social skills, opportunities for exercise, and access to professional behavioral support. Our Summer Program runs 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday through Friday from June 10th through September 1st.
