youth services for teens 14-18

Need programming for your teen with disabilities?

Aptiv's Youth Services provides teens with disabilities, ages 14-18, with access to tools outside of the school day and during the summer so that they may be more successful in their academic, home, and social lives. The program revolves around a rich curriculum that focuses on your teen's individual needs and allows them to be able to learn and retain life-long skills.

Your teen will have opportunities to engage in the community and develop social skills, opportunities for exercise, access to professional behavioral support, and flexibility in scheduling.

The program curriculum is structured around meeting individual needs while learning applicable and relevant life skills in a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere. Class topics and activities are constructed by experienced staff members who understand the value of your teen’s mental, physical, and emotional health and wellness. Each topic is adjusted to account for your teen’s development level and care needs. The curriculum works to incorporate practical life skills into every age group.

Curriculum Examples:

  • Time and Money Management

  • Grocery Shopping and Meal Prep

  • Household Responsibilities

  • Team Building Exercises

  • Career Exploration

Community Integration

The Youth Services program includes regular community activities that integrate your teen into their communities through fun area visits and events while guiding them through skills such as pedestrian safety, stranger danger, and appropriate public behavior.

It’s because of gifts to the Aptiv Foundation that children and adults with disabilities are reaching their goals.  It is only through the vision and generosity of contributions to the Aptiv Foundation that it becomes possible to provide the level of support each person needs and deserves. Contributions go to funding facility improvements, program equipment, and other tools to help people with disabilities live, learn and work in our communities.
