Miss RemarkAble Pageant - Janesville
Building life skills and self-confidence
Miss RemarkAble is a pageant for women with disabilities ages 13 and older. The Miss RemarkAble Pageant provides a platform for these women to build their confidence and self-esteem through educational workshops in the morning, as well as one-on-one interviews, ending the day with the on-stage pageant portion. During the pageant, the contestants will introduce themselves, answer an on-stage question, and their RemarkAble Me Videos will be played. All ten contestants will receive their own personalized title, along with a crown, sash and flowers.

About the Event
Miss RemarkAble was created by Aptiv, formerly known as Riverfront, as an event to give women with disabilities the ability to build life skills and self-confidence. This event benefits the Aptiv Foundation, which generates charitable gifts to fund facility improvements, new programming and equipment needs for services provided to people with disabilities. The Aptiv Foundation provides the financial resources to create new projects, programs, initiatives or purchase adaptive equipment for the individuals with disabilities served by Aptiv.
All proceeds from the event are utilized to ensure that people with disabilities can achieve a more confident and connected experience in our community.

Meet the Contestants
Holly is funny, creative, talkative, outgoing, and loves joking around. In her free time, she enjoys bowling and biking, along with knitting, cooking, shopping and going out for a bite to eat. Holly wants to be Miss RemarkAble because it will challenge her to come out of her comfort zone and try new things, she also hopes to meet new people and create new friendships.
Meghan is big into sports, including down hill skiing, tubing on Lake Geneva, participating in Special Olympics Rhythmic Gymnastics and Swim Team and DreamTeam baseball. She has also performed in the Christian Arts Center performances CATS, Godspell, Fiddler on the Roof and Narnia. She is on the Big Foot High School Cheer Team and part of the Drama Club. She is also a Barnyard Adventure Volunteer. Meghan is the oldest of four kids, and has a service dog named Maddy who is a Yorkshire Terrier.
“I feel I am ‘able’ to do most anything. While I am in a wheelchair, I don’t let that stop me, I always want to try and often I find I am able,” Meghan said, ‘My family is very active. They have always encouraged me and included me.”
Bailey loves animals, from snuggling with her puppies in her free time to her dream job of working with animals such as the Humane Society. She is also involved in Club Unify, and volunteers at the Humane Society, her church, a local homeless shelter, and the Special Olympics. Bailey is a self-proclaimed Kindle “game-aholic” and is a really good friend. She is also a twin! Bailey wants to be Miss RemarkAble to build her confidence and to have new and fun experiences. She says she wouldn’t normally have an experience like this, and wants to get out of her comfort zone.
Tierra is into sports, but also makes time to read to young children at school. She runs track, swims, tennis, lifts weights, and plays basketball. A dream job of hers would be to play on a team in the WNBA. She has been a junior leader at a day camp, and has sang with her church youth group worship team. She sang the national anthem at the Special Olympics. She would love to be Miss RemarkAble because she is enthusiastic, positive, encouraging and caring.
Trisha is a dancer, but also plays basketball and plays for the Special Olympics. She also enjoys listening to music and watching TV. She listens to R & B music and the Cheetah Girls. Scary movies are her favorite movie genre. She is looking forward to Miss RemarkAble because she has never had a chance to be in a pageant before and is very excited for the opportunity.
Rosa loves to draw, and loves listening to the band BTS. She is also in the school choir. She is part of a big family of three brothers and two sisters. She is looking forward to Miss RemarkAble because she gets to have a special day and dress up in a beautiful dress.
Karen loves all kinds of things, including the color purple, bowling (she has her own shoes and ball), Christmas carols, puzzles, movies, fishing, basketball and her dad.
Karen also visits people in retirement homes, and would love to work with cats and dogs.
"I wanted to do something out of my comfort zone for once, and I have always dreamed of being a princess for a day," Karen said about her participation in the pageant.
